Meet Giles

Giles is a very interesting and unusual mix. We think he may be a combination of Great Dane, St. Bernard, Collie and Boxer. He is around 18 months old and 73 lbs. Giles was in danger at a full pound, and especially as a larger dog his chances for adoption were slim and Giles was on the list:(. STAF knew we needed to help this guy, so we stepped in to give him the best chance possible at finding his forever home.

Giles is a very friendly boy who loves to give hugs and never says no to playtime. He gets along well with other dogs, and also does well in the car. Giles just might be that dog co-pilot who takes that cross-country car trip you’ve been dreaming about :)

Here is some wonderful feedback from a volunteer that took Giles home for some R&R: “Giles has been nearly perfect at my house. No accidents and when he needs to go out he will let you know with a soft, little whine. He is fantastic on walks, hardly any pulling, unless he sees a bird or squirrel:). He definitely doesn’t mind being brushed and he is not a barker unless he sees someone outside. Very affectionate and loves being around people, he followed me everywhere I went, think he would be great with kids. Giles was very good in the car. Overall it was obvious that he is very used to life inside a home, I think he was sad when he had to leave.”

Giles is a clever boy- he even knows how to sit and give his paw. One look into his stunning blue eyes is sure to melt your heart, and we can’t blame you! Come on by to fall for his baby blues and friendly personality.

Please see our homepage for visiting hours and adoption details.

All of our animals are spayed/neutered and current on shots.

Visit our website www.staf.org to download our application.

We do not do same-day adoptions; we ask that you return for a follow-up visit before taking an animal home.

You must be 21 years or older to adopt a dog from STAF

We require a physical fence for homes with children under the age of 11. We also may require a physical fence for specific dogs on a case-by-case basis, depending on each dog's behavior and exercise needs.

Invisible fences - Due in part to increasing coyote activity/incidents in the area and the difficulty of predicting how a dog will respond to invisible fence training--we cannot adopt to homes with invisible fences unless otherwise noted in a dog's online profile.

We do request vet and personal references.

At this time, we are only able to consider applicants within 75 miles of Cincinnati.

Can’t adopt but want to help? You can make a difference! Our shelter is run entirely on volunteer-power and generous donations from animal-lovers like you. 100% of your contribution goes directly to caring for our 500+ furry residents. Thank you for your support.
