This dog is being fostered with New Hope Dog Rescue (Saskatoon). If you are interested in adopting please fill out an Adoption Application. Meet and greets are by appointment only and done so after an adoption application has been submitted. A successful applications will be contacted by the foster home to discuss further. We are volunteer run so please be patient.

Meet Gigi, she is an adult dog that is about 23 kg and 21 inches at the shoulder, we are unsure of her age. If you noticed she did have one eye removed. She has adjusted very well to having only one eye, but she does walk into you on an occasional basis.

She is a special needs dog, she has been diagnosed with bronchial collapse. She takes three inexpensive medications a day. Her condition has been controlled comfortably with these three medications. She needs to go to a calm household. She also just had a dental and had some teeth removed.

She lives with several other dogs, as large as 120 pounds and as little as 6 pounds. She loves to play with them all. She does have to be kept calm so we do keep the playing times to several shorter periods each day. She is one of the sweetest dogs we have ever fostered.

She does love to lounge on the couch (we didn't have the heart to tell her we do not allow dogs on our furniture) and her dog bed. We have not kenneled her often; she has been a perfect guest in our home. We do think she will do best in a home with another nice mannered dog. She is starting to now get in the vehicle without too much coaxing. We do not often walk her due to her condition, but she could go on short controlled walks with an easy walk harness that attaches to her chest area. She really enjoys being brushed.

She is a little stubborn, she is very food motivated, so when she is being stubborn if you shake a few crunchers she is willing to do what you would like. You can not leave food on a counter, you see she was emaciated when she arrived and although she gets her two meals a day, she still takes any opportunity to eat.

If you think she may be a great match for you, please fill out our adoption application, she can't wait to meet you.

Gigi has been spayed, microchipped, dewormed, current on age appropriate vaccines and has received a health check from a vet. adoption fee is $295.

Disclaimer: in most cases we are guessing the breed mix. These are best guesses on our part. For puppies it can be extremely difficult and we are also guessing on what size they will be.

NEW HOPE DOG RESCUE is not a shelter. Our dogs are placed in loving foster homes. WE NEED FOSTER HOMES TO HELP MORE DOGS - CONTACT US TODAY!!!
Definitions:
Pending - means that we are working through the adoption process with the 1st applicant. We usually don't add the pending until we are pretty sure the adoption will go through (like at the home visit stage)
Adopted - you know!! A happy ending for a homeless dog.
