Ghost (aka Dexter) Labrador Retriever Mix Clayton, NC

Cuteness and energy abound!

Ghost is a wonderful, hi-energy lab mix about 1 1/2 years old and who weighs about 65 pounds. His foster mom says he is a submissive dog who is very respectful of other dogs and people. He does great on their pack walks and has quickly learned to follow the rules of the house, such as waiting patiently to be fed and remaining quiet in his crate.

Ghost's crate is a great place for him to decompress and settle down. As a hi-energy dog, he is very curious and "on" nearly all of the time. This boy isn't a 24-hour couch potato! He's more like "Hey! Are you ready? What's going on over there? Did you hear that?! Smell that? Is that a ball? Do you have a treat? Are you ready yet?" His energy should level out as he gets a little older, but finding a family to manage that energy and who is willing help him learn to settle when appropriate is important.

Because of his puppy-like energy and size, he would most benefit from a home with a yard where he can run and play ball. He also loves water! A yard would give him the freedom to splash in a kiddie pool or play with a water hose on a warm day. His foster mom says that even though he is not a pure lab, he exhibits all the classic lab behavior: fetching, loving water, and acting goofy.

This boy is one of the most photogenic dogs we've had at the barn. And we are hoping to see photos of him really soon with his family in a new, forever home! Submit your application to meet Ghost today!

Ghost is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and up to date on heartworm and flea/tick preventative. Our $250 adoption fee covers these expenses.

**** Ghost is affectionately called "Dexter" by his foster family since "Ghost" sounds very much like "No" to a dog... and we don't want him thinking his name is a bad thing! He's "Ghost on paper" but learning to respond to "Dexter".
