Meet Gertrude
Gertrude is a sprightly and lovely female dog with lots of energy and love to give! She's an adult but behaves like a puppy and is very playful. Gertrude is extremely smart and walks well on the leash without pulling. She's very mouthy and loves to play bite when she's excited. Until she can be broken of this habit, we wouldn’t recommend letting her near children. She ignored the cats when we tested her so we think she might be cat friendly, however, the way she shook a stuffed toy is concerning as to how she would act with one if there was no barrier between them. We would keep her on a leash around cats until you’re sure she isn’t a threat. Gertrude is a quick learner who is very treat-motivated, and with the proper training and lots of patience, she will become the perfect companion. Please watch her video and note her breed and energy level to see if she's the right fit for your home. This pet is up to date on vaccines, spayed/neutered, and microchipped, but tested positive for heartworms. The shelter offers heartworm treatment assistance. She can't wait to meet you!
