Meet Georgia

Oh sweet Georgia....we've got you on our mind! This sweet gal ended up at our county shelter as a stray. A volunteer saw her and immediately recognized that she had poor function of her rear limbs. We did not know anything more about Georgia, just what her intake notes from county stated. While at county, her first few days she was terrified, showing her teeth and exhibiting fear. It was not until until she was lured to play area and found a tennis ball. It was then that her playful side emerged. We have learned so much about Georgia since we took her into our care. Georgia is darling. She craves attention, she LOVES people, she is playful and she is terribly cute. Georgia is special needs girl. All of her tests and x-rays looked good, no fractures or dislocations, old or new, however, there was prior trauma to the spinal cord. Who knows what happened to her in her prior life, she does have scarring on her rear side, and both of her ears are cauliflower-ed. Georgia is healthy today but will need a very special family. She is incontinent, her stool drops out of her involuntarily and her bladder must be expressed (emptied) at least 3 to 4 times a day as she is susceptible to urinary tract infection. In time, 2-3 years down the road, Georgia might be a candidate to zoom around in a wheelchair, however, her spirit will never slow her down. Georgia is a ton of fun, she is a superhero, and as of today, she loves her walks, she loves to jump in the pool and would welcome a lift up on any couch to be next to her person! Georgia loves to play ball and so eager to please and learn. She already knows how to sit, fetch, stay, come and shake hands. She is soooooo smart. She is affectionate and so inspiring. If you are interested in giving this loving girl the home she so deserves, please take a moment to fill out our application, https://www.povertyspets.org/adoption-form. Once received, you will be contacted within 72 hours. $200 donation, Georgia is approximately 3-4 years old. She is dog social but will need to be properly introduced. Some dogs may react aggressively to her disabilities, which includes doing a spin dance to stop when she gets on all fours. She has so much love to give. She is magical.
