Meet George
George is a country boy, looking for a quiet, rural home.
George is a senior Labrador retriever mix, and with the white tip on his tail, we hereby declare he is also part Border Collie. Seriously, George has all the wonderful characteristics of a Lab – he is a regally handsome, loyal, sweet, calm guy who might try to climb into your lap if you sit on the floor. He is housebroken, knows basic commands, has a good recall, likes to keep his people in view, and is an excellent watch dog. Although George was a stray, we think he may have been a duck-hunting dog in his past – he likes sitting in the tall grass near the lake and enjoys swimming.
George is about ten years old and weighs 70lbs. As a senior, George is a little slower, but still likes taking short walks down the dirt road at his foster’s lake cabin. He rides well in a crate and jumps right into it in his foster’s Suburban. Back In the city, George is very cautious about the busy, noisy life outside the back yard. Having been in foster care for a little while now, we know George prefers quiet, open spaces where he can safely explore, hang out, and be his country-boy self.
George gets along with all the dogs in his foster home, even the bossy girl, and is likely to be OK with cats. George has lots of happy, Labrador love to give his forever family!
