Meet Genie:: 6 months old, 70 pounds, Neutered Male Great Dane.

Available for Adoption!

We rescued this sweet boy from the shelter after his owners abandoned him there. He was so terrified in the shelter that he didn't want his rescuer to touch him when she got there, but he quickly warmed up and fell in love with her once he realized she was there to help him. This poor baby's life was turned upside down because his family bought him on impulse and then discarded him when they realized Great Dane puppies grow fast and need training.

Genie is the sweetest boy and he loves to play with his foster's other dogs. He is gentle and affectionate with children and doesn't show much interest in his foster's dog savvy cat. Genie is house broken and well mannered in the home, but he is still very much a puppy and will need some continued guidance, as all puppies do.

$250 Adoption Fee. We will be looking for a home for Genie who has experience with Great Danes and/or Giant Breed dogs.

All Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue dogs come spayed/neutered, current on vaccinations, heartworm tested, current on heartworm and flea prevention, and microchipped.

Along with other criteria evaluated in the application, a fenced yard is required to adopt. Please see our Fenced Yard Requirements tab on our website for more information.

ADOPTION APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR PEPPERMINT PIG ANIMAL RESCUE:

To complete our easy online adoption application:

1. Go to our website at PeppermintPigAnimalRescue.org.

2. Read our ADOPTION PROCESS tab on our website.

3. Read the dog's bio on our website to check for specific requirements to adopt and to see if the energy, personality, size, etc. are the right fit for your family.

4. Complete our online Adoption Application.

5. We will contact you if you are selected for a meet.

All adoption information and applications can be found under the ADOPTION CENTER tab.

Adoption events are held every Saturday in our thrift store from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. Please complete your adoption application in advance so our volunteers have time to screen and contact potential adopters.

IMPORTANT: All applications are reviewed in the order they are received and qualifications are based on best fit for each individual pet. A volunteer will contact you if you are selected for a meet with adoptable pet. Final approval is always made in person.
