Meet Gabe
The latest Boyo to join the Paradise canine membership is Gabe, a young, medium size guy about a year old. He came to us from Flint through the efforts of Pets In Peril.
The immediate reaction to this puppy was surprise and dismay at seeing his butchered ears. Here was this young dog with his beautiful merle coat, normal in every way, but no fluffy pendant or upright ears to match the rest of him. Obviously, a cruel and ignorant someone decided to crop his ears close to his head. And why? Stupidity, self-indulgence, craziness come to mind. We'll never know and we try not to acknowledge what we think was the method used for this butchery.
Gabe was hesitant and frightened when first brought to Paradise, but food and a warm cot with fuzzy blankets soon brought back the puppy still in him. His amazing soft blue eyes together with his merle coat suggest a possible Shepherd background. Those eyes...they reach your soul.
He's a hit with the volunteers. What's not to love. He is generous with his affection, well-mannered, gentle, definitely loving, gives and takes kisses like there's no tomorrow, and is especially fond of belly rubs. He is the best. No holds barred. That's a lot to say about a youngster who has not seen the best of humanity, but forgives and forgets.
Gabe will probably be best as an only dog and we have limited information as of yet on children, cats, etc, but will update bio as we get information.
Adoption fee will be $200
Estimated DOB 2/1/2018
