Meet Frieda

Meet Frieda!! She is an approximately 1-year-old medium to high energy Shepherd mix. She became a misfit due to demodectic mange but she is all healed up now! She is heart worm negative, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, spayed, and micro-chipped.

Frieda walks on a leash pretty well and does well in the car, too. She hasn't quite figured out how to sit / lay so she can easily keep her balance but she doesn't get sick and she behaves well. She is just not extremely sturdy. She has not learned any tricks while with her foster family, but she would likely learn fast with the right owner.

She is great with other dogs and good with older children. She could be okay with younger children but would need to be monitored in case she were to **accidentally** knock them down. She REALLY wants to play with her feline foster siblings, to the point that she will chase them up their cat tree if she isn't closely monitored. Her foster family has a lot of cats around and we have no concerns that she would ever intentionally hurt them but we do worry that her trying to be their friend could result in someone being injured. We would like to see her go to a home with no cats or other small pets she would have ready access to.

Frieda is a little slow to warm up in a new environment. We suspect she came from a not-so-great background, though we will never really "know." Once she warms up to her humans, she is the sweetest, goofiest girl! She is always climbing in "her" chair and sticking her tongue out when she knows it is time to go to bed. She loves to run and play with other dogs and would more than likely be great for someone who likes to hike or jog regularly (with some training... her leash skills aren't *that* good). She prefers women, so would do best in a home with a single woman or a couple, not a home where she would only be exposed to a man / men 24/7
