Freya Black Labrador Retriever Mix MAPLE RIDGE, BC

Freya is about 7 years old, she is a Labrador mix. Freya was not initially spayed when she came into our care and developed a urinary tract infection, but after treatment she was well again and she is now spayed! She also had a dental cleaning recently and is in good health for her age.


Freya can be initially shy with new people and new situations, but warms up in time, she enjoys being around people and is good with other dogs on her walks once she gets to know them.
Initially, Freya had trouble settling in when home alone, but she has improved a lot with a regular schedule. Freya also travels with her foster caregivers to their cabin and is a great traveller. She settles right in as long as her favourite bed is with her. She is also very active, loves her walks and playing fetch!

Freya has some vision loss, so she is looking for a regular routine without too much change as this can cause her stress.

Freya does best when she sticks to her daily schedule:
One long walk/play session;
2 meals (am & pm);
Potty break later in the day;
Late night/before bed potty break and/or a second walk.

When Freya initially arrived in our care, she was quite anxious and was prescribed a medication to help calm her, she takes this daily and it seems to help. Freya should stay on this medication initially after adoption to help her settle in (she will come with a supply so she does not miss any dose).

Freya is spayed and up to date on vaccinations. All pets receive flea, tick and deworming as needed.

Freya is fostered in Vancouver, BC.
Adoption fee is $100

All pets in our care are up to date on basic vaccination and receive parasite control as needed.
