You must be 25 yrs of age or older to adopt through us. We are in the Rochester NY area and adopt dogs out to area residents.

YOU MUST live in the Rochester NY area to adopt Freya and a fenced in yard is preferred.

FREYA is estimated to be a couple of years old and weighs approx 15 lbs. We cannot be certain of breed, but she seems to perhaps resemble a Schipperke or mix. Silky soft fur and curled up tail enjoy petting, and Freya LOVES belly rubs!
Overly loving and affectionate with her human but prefers not to share her human’s love with other dogs. For this reason, we feel an only dog would be best. She was around a cat briefly and was fine with the cat. She will greet you with exuberance and will spin like a little top in delight when you come home. She can (and does) bark when left alone so apartment living is not for her.
Sleeps in bed with foster mom at night and is a good jumper. A fenced yard would be ideal, yet with her ability to jump, suggest that you do not trust fencing until you have supervised her for an extended period initially. In other words, she can be a bit of a “Houdini”, so use caution opening doors and allowing her to be unattended outside.
Her favorite place to be is on your lap, your chest or as close to your face as she can get. She will ADORE you, perhaps more than you can manage at times! If you need someone to love you, this is your girl! We have not had her around young children so have no idea how she would be with them so no toddlers to be safe. We believe she would be fine with older children.
We are waiting on confirmation of her spay date, she will be spayed before adoption but can go to new home under special contract till spaying is done.
