FREDDY! Poodle & Maltese Mix Philadelphia, PA

MEET FREDDY!

This handsome little guy is named Freddy. He joined City of Elderly Love after being surrendered to a local shelter when his former owner moved to assisted living. He looked a little rough around the edges when he joined up, but has had a major glow up and has turned into a handsome fella!

We'd guess Freddy is a Poodle/Maltese type mix and weighs around 12 lbs. Freddy is about 11 years old though still very spunky! He loves romping around in the yard and going for walks around the neighborhood, though he does like to sleep in if given the chance. Sometimes he'll even bounce up and down in delight when he's happy to see you or when he knows it's dinner time. While Freddy is usually a laidback gentleman, he does have his moments where he can be an old grumpy man. While he's fine at the vet and groomers, we've found that he doesn't love being groomed/cleaned up at home (like having his eyes wiped unless he's otherwise preoccupied) and will become grumpy. If he has a toy or something he's decided is high value, it's difficult to get that item away from him. And sometimes he'll snap if he's picked up unexpectedly or if he's not in the mood to be picked up. So while he is a sweetie who loves to snuggle, he has his quirks as well which should be noted.

Freddy is currently in foster care with other dogs. He's not afraid to grumble if another dog is bugging him. He'll take some time to warm up to some other dogs and we think he'd do best with another dog who won't let Freddy boss them around. He came from a home where he was the one and only pet so doesn't always love sharing the attention. He definitely wouldn't mind being the center of your attention. Freddy would likely be happiest in a home without small children and without cats. This happy, healthy dude is house broken and has been fully vetted and is ready to find the perfect family!
