Freda’s FAQs

What is Medina County Animal Shelter’s adoption process?

You must have an appointment in order to meet any dog. To make an appointment call 330-725-9121, between the hours of 10am-4pm Mon-Fri, or Sat 10am-2pm. All adoptions are first come first served. You must be 18, in order to adopt. You are required to purchase a Medina County Dog tag, and that is included in the $64 adoption fee. Also, all dogs adopted from MCAS must be spayed or neutered within 6 months of adoption. You will be given a certificate for spay or neuter, and the cost of the procedure is included in the adoption fee, provided you go to a participating Veterinarian. There are no holds, or guarantees of adoption. In the event there is a high demand for a dog, there will be a drawing for that dog, held promptly at 10am on the day the dog goes up for adoption. There are no exceptions to any of our rules. All transactions are cash or check only. We do not accept credit or debit cards.
