Meet Fred

Don't be fooled by the frown, he really is a happy dog. He LOVES to play fetch no matter how clumsy he can be. His favorite past times are to cuddle/melt into your arms, take a great nap with a heavy snore, get belly rubs and ear scratches, sunbathe, eat peanut butter inside hollow bones and go on walks and be active. On his walks he doesn't really pull on the leash, but if he does and you say something he will listen and stop. He is very well trained and knows how to sit and lay down. He is very gentle and sweet towards humans, as well as other dogs. He is respectful when taking treats and does well in his crate. He is just a sweet boy that only wants to be loved, have fun, and feel safe right by your side.

Fred doesn't love it when other dogs get in his face, when he is laying down and comfortable, so he would do best in a home with a little bit older dogs that respect his boundaries. At times he can resource guard his food and bones/toys from other dogs, so we recommend feeding him separately. He is embarrassed to say that sometimes he get overly excited around females and may try to hump, but he does take correction and will quickly stop. He continues to get better about this, as we work with him.

He will be a great dog to have and will always be a loyal companion.

Our dogs are transported to a predetermined location agreed upon by the rescue. The adoption contract and fee are finalized prior to transport. As a Raising The Bar Animal rescue direct adoption, the adoption interview/meet and greet occurs on video call (Skype, FB Messenger call, Facetime, etc).

Our out of state adoption fee is $275 plus transport (varies by location). This fee includes all current vaccinations, deworming, a registered microchip, fecal analysis, spay/neuter for pets 6 months & older, and a heartworm test if over 6 months old. All dogs will be current on flea/heartworm prevention. A health exam will be completed and a certificate issued by a veterinarian within 10 days of departure.
