FRED's Story

Fred spent the Thanksgiving holiday in a foster home, here is what they said about him: I love Fred! What a happy little man he is! Fred is not housetrained yet, but made awesome progress in just three days. He really loved my dog and cats, and its clear that the best home for him will have another dog to learn from, play with and be a companion. He desperately wanted to play and snuggle with my dog, when she finally allowed him in her bed, his tail only stopped wagging when he fell asleep. Fred was born in a home with a lot of other dogs, and he is a bit shy and runs away when scared, so if there are children in his adoptive home, they ned to be old enough to know not to chase or grab him. He attached to people very quickly, loves wearing warm sweaters and sat so nicely for his bath. He is one of my favorite foster dogs, and whoever adopts him will be very lucky to have such a gentle, forgiving little dog in their life. So now, onto the question you are asking- is that dog pink? Well, Fred is pretty bald. Will Fred always be bald? Probably, yes. Fred came to us from a partner shelter when more than 100 animals were removed from a single home, and there were hairless breeds present, so he is likely a mix of one of those, however he has also previously been kept in conditions that led to a serious eye and skin infection. Fred is still working to get his skin and eyes cleared up, but he is a dog who will likely require extra veterinary care throughout his life, so adopters should be prepared for that- but this little guy will pay you back tenfold with his silly bouncing around your house and joyful personality.
