Meet Speckles

Speckles is a 2-year-old, 40-pound Lab/cattle dog mix. UDATE FROM FOSTER:
Speckles has been with us for about a month now and we all agree that she's one of our favorite foster dogs. When we first got her, she was very possessive of us as her people, and growled at our dogs when they tried to come near us (for this reason, she is listed as needing an experienced dog owner). She would push them out of the way for food and would dive into their food bowls and she'd growl if they came near hers.

After a couple of weeks of love and corrections with this, she gets along beautifully with both of our dogs and dogs she's gotten to see on a regular basis. She loves to play with our younger dog (the older one isn't interested), and will snuggle with both of them. Mostly though, she just wants to be cuddling with her people. She is gentle and oh so sweet. She is the first dog we've met who likes to hug you, she will gently put her front paws on your waist and just stand with you, it's adorable. We had a house full of guests and she hugged everyone! If you want a "glue dog", she is your girl. She will melt your heart with her soulful brown eyes. She is housetrained and crate trained. Expect a couple of accidents as she adjusts to your home- she is not impressed with the cold and would much rather stay inside! We have a fenced back yard and found that as long as we went outside with her, she knew to use the bathroom outside. If we sent her outside on her own, she'd just sit by the back door shivering until we let her in again. She does go out with our other dogs now and has not had any more accidents in the house.

She has learned to sit, and she now sits and waits for her "okay" before she starts eating. She no longer bothers the other dogs when they are eating. She will sleep in her crate, but much prefers to be under the covers or between your pillows on the bed. She loves to chase the squirrels in the yard, she plays fetch, and is a little too interested in cats to live peacefully with them.

Adoption fee is $425
