Meet Frankie

*** Frankie is special needs*** He is paralyzed In his hind end and is incontinent.

Meet Frankie! He is rocking it with those droopy eyes and long ears! It can’t get any cuter! He is a purebred Basset Hound. He is about 5 months old now. Frankie has a damaged vertebrae that left him paralyzed in his back end and he is incontinent. This doesn’t slow him down at all!! He still loves to run and play!!

Frankie does wear a diaper/belly band to help with the urinary incontinence and gets his bladder expressed several times throughout the day. He has a wheelchair that helps him get around when he goes on walks, very short walks because he is a lazy basset hound. Inside he prefer to just drag his back end versus riding around in his wheels. His new home should have someone who would be home more often, work from home, or able to come home on their lunch break.

Frankie loves other dogs and can always be found cuddled up next to one if his foster dog siblings. He would love for his new home to have a doggie friend for him! He does like cats as well although he sometimes gets a little too lovey with the cat and the kitty goes in his mouth. It’s all out of love though!

Overall, Frankie is a pretty laid back guy who will require lots of dog beds in his new home for all the lounging he loves to do. He would like someone who is able to keep up with his potty schedule. He will probably do best in a home where there aren’t many stairs to go up and down to get in and out of the house (he will need carried up and down stairs and bassets can get pretty heavy). He would love a doggie friend in his new home. He is fairly easy to care for, loves his food, and is as sweet as they come!!
