Meet Frankie

Meet Frankie, an approximately 10-year-old male miniature pinscher who became a Misfit when he and his four sisters were surrendered to a local shelter after their human died. This pet is neutered, up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, heart-worm negative, and micro-chipped!

When Frankie came to his foster parents, he was confused, sick, and neglected. This was very stressful for him, and even more so, since he had to be kept quarantined because he had an upper respiratory infection (URI). When he was let out of his crate, all he would do is run in circles. When he was put back in his crate, he would spin in circles for hours until he wore himself out and fell asleep. When he was cleared of his URI, he was allowed to roam the house with his foster brothers. After about two weeks he acclimated and began acting more normal. He is mostly deaf but can hear very loud noises. When he is awake, he follows humans everywhere hoping it is time for food.

Frankie is good with dogs of all sizes. He hasn’t been around cats or children. We don’t think he would be a good fit with anyone elderly, or who is not stable on their feet, as he likes to run around and step on top of your feet as you walk.

Frankie is not potty trained, but he will use the doggie door to go in and out. He uses the same place in the house to potty every time on potty pads. He gets super excited after he does his business and has to run through the house.

He doesn’t have a lot of teeth, but he eats a mixture of wet food and small dry kibble. He isn’t big on treats, but when his brothers get their treats, he will always be willing to accept a Ritz cracker or a piece of cheese.
