Meet Frank Sinatra

Frank Sinatra “Frankie”
Breed: Pit Mix
Age: 6
Gender: Male
Weight: 50lbs
Vaccinated: Yes
Microchipped: Yes
Heartworm: Negative
Kids: Hell yeah!
Potty trained: Like a BOSS!

Crate trained: Yep! He will bark for a few minutes but then calms and is awesome. Throw a treat in there and he runs right in.

Dogs: Yep! He’s unsure at first and nervous but would choose to not engage rather than come on too strong like a butthead. Frankie is not a butthead. He’s a man of class.

Cats: Unknown. He’d probably do well though.

Foster location: Aurora, IL. No out of state applicants, please.

Frankie has the most mesmerizing eyes, it’s impossible not to notice them immediately. People swoon over these eyes.

This boy is too sweet for words. Frankie LOVES his people. He will gladly lay in bed ALL day and do nothing! Dude is chill and happy as can be if he’s got human company.

Although he’s chill, he’s got plenty of happy, goofy energy. He will jump up on people during moments of excitement, but he is not a body slammer. He jumps gently and isn’t overly bouncy. Jumping is minimal and he really has to be excited to get some air. He’s got legit wiggles though. He’s so happy,

His tail...is freaking fabulous! Helicopter status. It literally spins in a circle when he’s at his maximum happy mode.

Frankie appears to have not had the best life previously, but you wouldn’t know it by his personality. He was found as a stray and his body wasn’t in great shape. On his left shoulder, he’s got quite a scar. I’m not actually sure it was a scar but it’s hard to describe. His skin underneath looks fabulous. But his skin can be seen, because he’s missing a huge chunk of hair. This does not appear to ever be coming back. He was thin, had broken teeth, a chunk missing from his left ear, and he had surgery to remove some odd looking masses. He’s got stitches in his neck and ear currently. He’s got quite a few scars on his legs and had some open wounds when he was found. He’s not bothered by any of it and happily allows handling all over.

Dude is a cuddle bug extraordinaire. He will gallop up to you, put on the breaks, and flop himself right on you, belly up. He nuzzles his head into your neck or any nook, like under your arm. He wants ALL the pets. He must have been someone’s pet prior because he knows humans sleep on the bed but he also knows he does too. Frankie wants to sleep with his people. Preferably, under the covers. If you’re not looking for a partner to spoon with you, move along. Those who may have hyperhidrosis should probably just look for a different dog. He curls up in one of your body nooks and expects full pets. When pets are over, you must help him lift the blankets so he can find his perfect, lower body nook to curl up in, under the covers. Being that I’m inherently a sweaty person, I absolutely love when the body heat of a dog wakes me up because I am drenched in sweat.

Frankie isn’t really interested in playing with toys, he’d much rather hang out with humans and cuddle. He will run to catch a toy you’ve thrown but then he just leaves it there and moves along. He will humor you by acting interested though. He’s very treat motivated and takes anything you offer him, with a very gentle mouth.

Along with Frankie not being overly interested in toys, he’s not overly interested in meal time either. But when he eventually finishes his bowl of food, he puts at least one paw inside the bowl to hold it, while he licks to make sure he hasn’t missed anything. It’s odd. Also, super cute.

This boy is about as easy and awesome. He’s beyond fantastic and no one in our house will be mad if he takes a while to adopt. We love him more by the day.

If you’re interested in meeting Frankie, please fill out an application at animalheartline.org and I (foster mom) will contact you.
