Francine Cairn Terrier & Yorkshire Terrier Mix High Point, NC

Pretty Francine lived in a good home her whole life but recently the husband died and the wife became too ill to care for a dog.

Francine is 13 years old but acts younger. She is great on the leash and enjoys going for walks. She loves running in a grassy yard and has the cutest bouncy way of running!

Her vet records call her a Cairn terrier but, even though she looks like one, she has soft fur that seems to be non shedding so we are thinking there may be some Yorkie mixed in.

She is a chunky 18 pounds, way overweight for her small frame, and she will definitely benefit from more exercise and portion controlled good quality food.

Francine is friendly but may be a bit reserved right at first. She warms up quickly and reveals her affectionate, snuggly and fun side just as soon as she is comfy. She adores attention.

Once comfy, she readily offers her round tummy for rubs and enjoys it when you are playful with her and tell her how adorable she is!

Francine is an easy going girl, not the anxious sort. She should adapt easily to her new home and routine. She will definitely be happiest in a more laid back household suitable for a well behaved senior.

She does not have any experience with little kids so small children in a home would be a bit too much for her. She is uncomfortable with active, pushy little kids grabbing at her so her new home should be an adults only one, please. She should be absolutely fine with visiting older kids that are peaceful and calm, like adults are. No wild grandkids please. And, please, no allowing unfamiliar kids to try to pet her when out on walks even though she is irresistibly cute and you want to share her.

Francine is housetrained (a set schedule is best for a senior) and likes to sleep in her dog bed at night.

She is good with both cats and dogs.

She has been well cared for, gotten regular vet care, and even had a dental cleaning in 2016. We just gave her a fresh dental cleaning.

She may act a bit reserved when you first come to meet her, but that is just because her life has just been turned upside down and everything in our shelter is new to her. No worries, back in a peaceful home setting, she is just fine and her perky and charming personality blossoms quickly.

Please note that we do not ship animals. We also require a home visit before finalizing any adoptions so preference is given to applicants within a 90 mile range. You will be required to come to High Point, NC to meet/pick up your new pet.

4. Save the application to your computer, then attach in an email and send to lovingpetinnadoptions@gmail.com
