Why Choose Me?<br/>Temporary foster update: Could you be Francesca's Velcro human? Francesca is a Velcro dog looking for a human to attach herself to. She's a 4 year old, 30 pound, mixed breed dog from Athens Clarke County Animal Services. She is house trained and crate trained. She stands on her back legs to beg for pets and treats. In the past few days at my house, she has gotten along with my dogs and cats, but I can tell she'd rather have her own person. She's spayed and UTD on her vaccines, but she's undergoing treatment for heart worms. Don't let that scare you! The shelter pays for all treatment. Until she has completed treatment, she is only available for foster-to-adopt or rescue.<br/>* * *<br/><br/>Foster update: "Francesca is estimated to be around 4 years old, very affectionate and LOVES people. House trained and non-destructive. She has gotten along well with the small dogs she has met so far. Large dogs/cats/small children unknown. She has some separation anxiety and will break out of crate if left alone for long. She seems content just being near you and snoozes most of the day."<br/><br/>Francesca stole my heart. She's a happy girl with hugs and kisses to share. She's a medium-sized dog and was thrilled to have lap time and enjoy lots of pets and scratches. She sits for treats, walks well on a leash, and loves to please. Sadly, Francesca has heartworms, so if she's not reclaimed, she'll only be available for rescue, foster, or foster-to-adopt. Once she's treated for her heartworms, she'll also be available for adoption.
