Meet FOSTER A DOG

Open your heart and home to a dog in need. Become a foster today. It's easier than you think! We are here for you every step of the way - and what's even better is that we LOVE what we do. Our lives revolve around rescue and dogs. It's more than just a volunteer opportunity - it's a passion.

We at RDV will cover all the medical costs - we ask only for you to provide food, love and care. As a foster you will help us to find the right home for your special canine charge. We are always here to provide advice, assistance, compassion, support and an unending friendship that can only be formed through an experience such as this.

If you live in ME, NH, VT, CT, MA, NY, NJ, RI and even PA... there are dogs who desperately need you. Dogs of all breeds, ages, shapes and sizes.

You don't have to have a ton of experience, heck you don't even need to be as crazy about dogs as we are - but if you have the time and desire to help ONE dog in need - we are waiting for you! We promise you a great experience. Fostering a dog will enrich your life. You will know you have truly DONE something.

FOSTER INFORMATION & APPLICATION

The steps for fostering a Rescue Dog Village Dog:

1.Complete the foster application.
2. We do a vet check.
3. We will contact you for a phone interview.
4. A volunteer will visit your home.
5. The RDV committee will approve all foster requests.
6. You will need to sign a foster contract.
Foster Policy

Rescue Dog Village, LLC is an all-volunteer organization. Everyone involved donates their time to seeking homes for these wonderful dogs. We do not have a paid staff, an office or kennel. Every effort is made to match a Dog in need with the right home. Our fosters enable us to do this better by providing us with invaluable information on the habits, personalities and needs of each dog fostered.

Fostering is a very rewarding experience and helps a rescue effort greatly. Our foster program is very simple. We follow basically the same process as adoption but instead of signing an adoption contract; a foster contract is signed.

Fosters cannot adopt the dogs they foster. To become a RDV foster you first must apply. Please complete the application only if you are SERIOUS and READY for the commitment of fostering a dog. Once we receive your application we will call your vet to ensure all your pets are current on vaccinations and preventatives; call you for a phone interview; and finally, set up a home visit so that we can get a good idea of the type of dogs who would be best for you to foster. This also helps you get to know us better and we can answer any questions that you may have. If you do not hear from us, it does not mean that you are not approved, sometimes we cannot match foster dogs to your home and lifestyle; our rescue dogs need special attention and training.

We expect that if you offer your home for fostering, it is with the understanding that you are working toward helping a deserving Dog find a final home, and not with the goal to "pick and choose" a Dog you may wish to adopt.

If you would like to help us with this huge undertaking by providing a temporary home to a Dog in need, please fill out our Foster Application by clicking the "Continue" link below.

Thank you for your interest. Fostering a rescue dog is a rewarding experience that your family will carry with them for the rest of their lives. You have the power to help. YOU can make ALL the difference. Please don't wait - contact me today at
