Forrest is an incredible, lovable 2 year old (best guess)Plott hound. He spent his first two years wandering off from his owner in West Virginia with his brother sowing his wild oats and having adventure after adventure until winding up here in Western New York.
He's now ready to meet a new family that ideally will have plenty of space for him to enjoy what he loves most: being outdoors, running, and playing. He would also enjoy and do well with other dogs his size and, has proven he can even get along with his indoor cat friends.
Forrest is a very affectionate hound. He is immediately friendly towards new people, adults and kids alike. He has a very sweet disposition and loves to lounge with his fosters on the couch in the evening. He will go to a crate with gentle guidance but may complain for a short time.
He is also very energetic and needs frequent walks and significant time outdoors. He appears to have prominent hunting instincts and would do well as a hunter's companion.
