Meet Flint

Flint came to us as a very frightened, discarded dog who was constantly shaking at the loud shelter. At only 8 months and underweight at 26lbs, Flint was picked up as a stray in SC. He is a shy little guy but gaining confidence with his foster each day. Flint wants to be with his person and loves to cuddle on the couch. He is still very much a puppy who is happy, easy-going, cat-friendly, and crate-training. Flint is nervous to go outside so we are using a leash to teach him that going out also means he will come back inside. He would love a canine sibling to follow and play with! He is great in the yard, loves other dogs and is a medium energy little guy. Located in CT.

Please note: Little Black Dog Rescue is a FOSTER BASED rescue based in Fairfield County, Connecticut. We do NOT have a facility where you can come meet the dogs. We do adoption events every few months but primarily work one-on-one with each applicant to match the right dog to the right family. Once your application is received, all questions can be answered. We currently adopt to homes along the East Coast of the United States. The adoption fee ranges from $250-$525 depending on age of the dog and transport distance/cost.

Please go to our website at to see more information and to fill out our online application. Applications are required before conversations about potential matches can begin. Please check our website for up to date availability.

We are a non profit organization and the adoption fee goes towards the transport, vetting, spay/neuter and boarding needs of the dogs we rescue. LBDR is a small rescue that receives a minor discount on vetting unlike larger rescues who self-administer or receive volume discounts. LBDR focuses on the rescue, care and placement of black dogs who are in danger of euthanasia due to their color, as well as other dogs who are in immediate need. LBDR is funded by donations which are used solely for the
care of our dogs.
