Meet Flex – A One-of-a-Kind Little Soul Looking for His Person<br/><br/>Flex is a 6-year-old Chihuahua/Miniature Pinscher mix with a big heart packed into a tiny 13-pound body. With his sweet eyes, quirky personality, and burrito-style blanket naps, Flex is sure to capture the heart of the right person—and he’s ready to find her.<br/><br/>Fully vetted and healthy, Flex is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and had a full dental in September, along with clean, up-to-date bloodwork. He’s house-trained, loves his routine, and spends most of his days wrapped in blankets on the couch, dreaming doggy dreams.<br/><br/>But what really makes Flex special is his journey. He’s been in foster care since March 2023, and with time, structure, and a whole lot of love, he’s slowly blossomed into a deeply affectionate, loyal, and incredibly intelligent companion. He forms close bonds and returns affection tenfold once he trusts you—zoomies and happy spins included when he hears his foster mom’s special voice just for him.<br/><br/>Flex has some quirks from a tough start in life—he came to us with serious resource guarding, especially around food and his crate. But thanks to dedicated care and work with a professional trainer (who adores him and is even offering continued support to his adopter!), Flex has made amazing progress. He just needed someone to show him what it feels like to be safe and loved.<br/><br/>Because of his specific needs, Flex is looking for a solo female home—someone calm, confident, patient, and experienced in dog behavior. He thrives in a predictable environment with someone who understands his past and can offer the steady support he needs to keep growing.<br/><br/>He would also do best in a home with a secure, fenced backyard where he can enjoy the outdoors safely and get out some energy on his own terms. He loves being outside, but needs the freedom to explore without the stress of unfamiliar surroundings. That being said, he does wonderful on a leash and thouroughly enjoys going on nature walks.<br/><br/>Flex also gets along well with other small dogs and has a few special pup pals he has closely bonded with —so if you’ve got a sweet little dog already, even better!<br/><br/>Flex may not be everyone’s dog, but for the right person, he’ll be everything.
