We are in Rochester, NY, we adopt to people who live in the Rochester area. We do not ship our dogs and require home visits. Must live in area to adopt, will not respond to out of area/country requests. Additionally, if fencing is required it must be a physical fence and in place at time of home visit.

Calling all Yellow Lab and German Shepherd fans! Meet Flash - he’s the best of both worlds! He looks like a shepherd with the color and coat of a lab. I mean, really - who in the absolute world can say no to this face? Keep reading - he’s the total package!

A little background: Flash was supposedly "rescued" by an independent rescuer, who just put him in a dog pen with another dog. Then, she sporadically fed all her animals. There were about twenty dogs, goats, three cows (two died), horses. None of them getting what they needed, until, THANKFULLY, they were all confiscated. Our shelter partner took Flash and couple other dogs from there (don’t worry - the rest went to other rescues). Both of the others found their homes in South Carolina, and Flash found his way to us.

Flash is 2.5 years old and about 85 lbs Don’t let his size deter you, this sweet boy doesn’t have a mean bone in his body and absolutely loves people. If you love to wrap your arms about a big gentle dog for a welcomed hug, or snuggle on the couch or bed with a big ole lovebug by your side, Flash is your boy.

He is mannerly in the house, calm - no shenanigans like jumping up on people, etc. He walks nicely on a leash making outings really easy and enjoyable, and then will jump right up INTO a crate (if you use one)
in your car. He's quiet - not a big barker and as we said, there were about 20 dogs at this person's house, so he's going to be good with most dogs with appropriate introductions. He’s housebroken and crate trained. He’s gentle with children (his foster has a toddler) and doesn’t seem to mind the cats at her house either!

All our dogs have been treated for worms; heartworm tested (if age appropriate -7 mths or older); treated for fleas/ticks; microchip; and examined by veterinarian and given age appropriate vaccinations. We take every effort to ensure the health of the animal and you will receive a copy of all vet work performed.
