Meet FL-Dude ADOPTED!

We are the original, the one, and only Doodle Rescue Collective, Inc. providing Labradoodle & Goldendoodle rescue, re-home and resources throughout North America since 2008.

DRC Inc. has adoption requirements and policies in place to ensure the safety, well-being and appropriate home placement of every doodle dog in our program.

Adorable as they are, DOODLES ARE NOT FOR EVERYONE. Please read through our complete policies and be certain that your home environment and lifestyle are both compatible with, and appropriate for a doodle, BEFORE you apply. PLEASE NOTE: DRC DOES NOT ADOPT RESCUE/REHOME DOODLES TO FAMILIES WITH YOUNG CHILDREN UNDER 10 YEARS OF AGE.

READ MORE ABOUT DUDE

Meet Dude! A gorgeous and delicious Goldendoodle boy in need of a special "furever" home and family. Dude is 10 years young and 80 lbs. But don't let his age fool you! We say "young" because Dude is healthy, active, vibrant and looks and acts like a pup! Of course, there is a grace that comes with age and Dude exudes the calmer, wiser and more laid back version of his younger, more impulsive puppy self. He is 100 percent "loverboy" with his peeps and all humans and is quite the mushy, suggley teddy bear for such a dapper and proper gentleman.

Due to circumstance, poor Dude is loosing the only home and family he has ever known. His owners are heartbroken to have to give him up but feel that it is what is best for Dude.

Sadly, due to no fault of his own, delicious Dude was viciously attacked by a pitbull a few years ago and not only sustained physical injuries that have since healed, he also sustained some lasting psychological and emotional trauma as a result of the attack as well. Once highly social and gentle with all 4 legged creatures, Dude has become terrified of, and reactive towards most other dogs anticipating another attack. He is especially reactive towards dogs that are large and that resemble pitbulls. Dude does really well with his Labradoodle brother who happens to be extremely passive and was part of the family before Dude was attacked. But Dude will misinterpret puppy over-excitement and exuberance as a challenge and will react unpredictably in self-defense. Dudes family reports that they live in a high traffic area where there are not only many dogs in the neighborhood, so many of them are out loose and it isn't fair to poor Dude who is always on alert and becoming more and more stressed.

Dude is an AMAZING dog! Delightful, sweet, gentle, happy, patient, comical and WONDERFUL with all people, Dude has NEVER been aggressive towards humans and currently lives with kids with no issues. Dude's only other alleged "issue" is that he's what we call a master counter-surfer! Yes he will come with his framed degree to prove that he is in fact, a Doctor of Counter-surfing and apparently has the whole thing down to a science in his current home. So he will need a little "training" in that regard.

Delightful Dude will need a dog-savvy, adult only home with a yard surrounded by a physical fence and a family or person willing to provide him with a loving, safe home environment where he is the only dog.

TRANSPORT WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR THE RIGHT HOME - OUT OF STATE ADOPTERS MUST BE WILLING TO PARTICIPATE IN HOME INSPECTION AND MUST FLY TO FL FIRST FOR MEET AND GREET WITH DUDE BEFORE TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS WILL BE MADE & FINALIZED.

If you have a loving home to offer this doodle, please complete our online application by copying and pasting the link below into your browser.

You must be prepared for your dog to be an inside member of your family.
In most cases, a PHYSICAL FENCE IS REQUIRED in order to be considered for a DRC rescue doodle.

DRC Adoption donations typically range from: $300 - $600 and vary according to the age, health, temperament and location of each dog. Every doodle is an individual and every doodle has his/her own specific needs and requirements. Adopters are selected based on compatibility, NOT on a "first come, first serve basis. At no time does DRC ever put the desires of applicants before or above the needs and requirements of rescue doodles in our program.
