READ MORE ABOUT DRAKE

Drake is an adorable 10 month old Huskydoodle (Husky/Poodle mix) puppy surrendered to DRC because his original owners are going through what they call "major life changes." How they could part with this delicious boy is beyond us. Drake is about as cute and adorable as they come with an equally special personality and temperament. He is so sweet, well mannered and well behaved..Loves everyone and truly just wants to find his person or persons and attach.

He is still just a puppy. All 58 lbs of him. And he still has plenty of growing to do yet. We estimate that he will be anywhere between 65-75 lbs. by the time he matures. At the moment he has a mixed hair/fur multicolored coat as he is still in the process of blowing all that puppy fuzz. He is a light shedder. But we can't even begin to guess what his final coat and color will be once he matures. He doesn't know if he wants to be black, beige, grey or white yet. We are guessing that he will end up being a brindle light grey.

No matter what his coat color may end up being, one thing is certain. This boy is one incredible pup! He is extremely smart and learns very quickly. Like all puppies, Drake is going to need some additional manners and leash training. His new family will have to realize that he is still just a baby...A BIG one...But a baby none the less with baby needs that require a puppy-experienced owner. Drake will also need to have someone home for at least part of the day as he continues to master his potty skills.

Drake will need a dog savvy home preferably surrounded by a physical fence that is at least 4" in height. He would be great as an only dog or with other dogs for company. He is neutered, micro-chipped, UTD on all vaccines and preventatives.

Drake will be a wonderful addition to the right family.

DRC ADOPTION POLICIES

DRC Inc. has adoption requirements and policies in place to ensure the safety, well-being and appropriate home placement of every doodle dog in our program.
Adorable as they may be and in spite of the hype, doodles ARE NOT FOR EVERYONE! They are highly intelligent, active, emotional, high maintenance dogs that require special attention, care and the serious commitment of an experienced dog owner.

Consequently, DRC does not typically adopt to first time dog owners, families with children under 10 years of age or those not experienced with the needs of large sporting dogs that have extensive grooming and exercise requirements.

Please read through our policies and be certain that your home environment and lifestyle are both compatible with, and appropriate for a doodle BEFORE you apply.

In many and most cases, a PHYSICAL FENCE IS REQUIRED in order to be considered for a DRC rescue doodle.

DRC Adoption donations typically range from: $250 - $500 and vary according to the age, health, temperament and location of each dog. Every doodle is an individual and every doodle has his/her own specific needs and requirements. Adopters are selected based on compatibility. NOT on a "first come, first serve basis. At no time does DRC ever put the desires of applicants, before or above the needs and requirements of rescue doodles in our program.
