Meet Fiona - VT
Fiona is a 5-6 year old female cattle dog who came from a shelter in Maine. Fiona is SUCH A GOOD GIRL and her foster family can’t understand why she was ever given up. She has the perfect cattle dog mask and is so cute.
Fiona, also affectionately called Fi-Fi, has perfect house manners, she is housebroken and crate trained. She loves to chew on balls and then relax on a soft dog bed. She is not a Velcro dog exactly and won’t lay on top of you but she will find herself in whatever room her human happens to be in.
When Fiona was pulled from the shelter she was significantly overweight. After a month in foster she has dropped a few pounds but needs an adopter committed to getting her weight down to a healthy place. She doesn’t have a sensitive tummy and has been doing well on a mix of kibble and raw food.
Outside she has almost perfect recall, is great around horses and was recently introduced to chickens and was mostly just curious.
This girl LOVES to fetch. Fetching is her one true passion.
Fiona is working on leash skills and still pulls on a leash. She also tries to go after cars while walking on the street, but she’s made a lot of improvements and this will only get better with consistent training.
Fiona is currently living with two other dogs and is doing fine. However, she can get defensive when another dog shows aggression, thus she would do best as an only dog or with a neutral or submissive dog. She is also a typical Heeler in that she gets excited and can get nippy, especially with kiddos, so it is recommended she go to a home with kids 12 and over. She is social and great with adults though and loves to meet new people.
Fiona’s foster mom thinks she would do best in a rural setting, where she can just hang out outside, play fetchies, do chores, and live her best life.
Fiona is spayed and UTD.
