Meet Fiona
Fiona is a 4.5 month old female mixed breed dog who was surrendered to a shelter by her breeder. She is likely a product of an "oops" litter. We were told her mama is full German Shepherd and papa is a German Shepherd / Labrador Retriever mix.
Fiona is living in a foster home with 2 adult German Shepherd dogs (1 male and 1 female). Fiona is very smart and already knows the words sit”, kennel”, and “off”, which means all feet need to be on the ground. She is crate trained but still working on being housebroken.
She is perfect on a leash, does not bolt out the front door when given the opportunity, and prefers to be wherever her foster mom is so she is your typical Velcro dog. She is still working on not chewing on non-toy items but is getting better and responds very well to “uh uh”. She is crated in a room by herself and even then, is generally quiet at night, only whining briefly when first put in her crate. However, she will whine when she wants to come inside.
She has learned to not jump and nibble on a 1 ½ year old grandson that frequently visits her foster home, licking most times instead.
She loves being outdoors, often walking the perimeter of the yard, looking for new smells.
She frequently tilts her head in typically German Shepherd Dog fashion, is affectionate, often rolling over to get belly rubs, and is submissive to the 2 adult dogs in the home. She is playful, loves everyone, and doesn’t know a stranger. She loves to learn, is very smart, and is very treat motivated.
Due to her drive and desire to play with other dogs, Fiona would do best in a home with an equally energetic playmate.
She has not been tested with cats. For people with the time to acclimate to kitties, and for a home with a dog savvy cat we assume she will be cat workable.

*Dogs and puppies 12 months old or younger: $450
* Adult dogs over 12 months of age: $400
* Senior dogs over 7 years of age qualify for our "Seniors FUREVER" program! Seniors are special to us, so we offer two options:
(1) If your heart has a special place for the seniors, you can adopt a senior dog for the regular adoption fee of $400 and this becomes a perpetual fee. You can adopt another SGSDR senior dog at any time from us in the future at NO CHARGE.
(2) If you aren't sure about your future adoption capacity, you may adopt your SGSDR senior dog for a reduced adoption fee of $250.
