Meet Finny
Finny is a beautiful snow white male pup with very expressive colorful ears, a black patch over one eye, and small barely visible spots over his body. He is estimated to be between 12 and 18 months old. He was picked up as a stray in Franklin County Indiana on June 29th. HART rescued him on August 5th. He is in good health, has the sweetest loving personality, and is ready for his new forever home.
Finny has the sweetest disposition and is a very loving pup, even though he is shy at first. He loves people, always excited to see you when you come into the room. He is good with children he knows but shy with unfamiliar children. It takes a little while for him to be comfortable with new people. He has been around several youngsters from 3 through 10 years old. He has been around a cat for a day and just ignores them. He gets along great with the fosters 39 pound foster beagle mix (chase each other and wrestles), but is very cautious with new dog and has to get to know them before warming up. He loves sitting on your lap while on the couch. It is obvious that he lived in a household before, as he has pretty good manners for a 15 month old pup. He will go into a crate when bribed with a treat and is quiet. Finny is robustly house broken and doesn't need a crate. He has never had an accident in the house, even though I let he out in the family room through the night and when away from the house.
Finny is still young and likes to chew on sticks and toys when in the yard basking in the sun or when not playing with the other dogs. He has never chewed on furniture. In the house he is content to lay on his pillow or couch. He is generally a very quit pup. Have been successful training not to bark with dogs barking on the other side of the fence. He is a pretty laid back pup, does well in the car, and sleeps through the night without a sound. He will sleep with you but recently he has slept downstairs on the couch.
Finny would need to get accustomed to the area before he'd go on walks (he wants to go back to the house). A fenced yard would be best for Finny since he doesn't take easily to walks. He is fine going out in the rain or snow. He'd usually do well with another dog in the house but would have to tolerate him wanting to play.
Finny is a medium sized dog, weighs 44 pounds at 17 months so he is as big as he is going to get. We'd guess he is a hound mix from his personality but it is impossible to tell. Finny is a gentle dog and will be a great family dogs.
All HART dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on all vaccines including bordatella. They are heartworm tested and on preventative for heartworm, fleas, and ticks.
