Meet Finn

Hi there! My name is Finn, I’m a 4-6-year-old white German Shepherd and probably husky mix. Not much is known about my life before I was rescued as I was found as a stray at a car dealership. I was covered in fleas and ticks which I had a very bad reaction to. My skin got very scabby and infected and they had to shave some of my pretty coat away to help it heal. The tips of my ears have also been eaten away, and I had an infection in my blood from ticks, which hurt my kidneys a little and I had the always dreaded heartworms. I'm doing much better now that I've been treated, my fur is growing back beautifully, my kidney counts have gone closer to normal and I have completed my heartworm treatment, just in time for a new home! It does take a few months for all the heartworms to be gone, but I also had the 12-month pro-heart injection, so no need to worry! I am an extremely happy and friendly boy who gets along well with everyone I meet, including other dogs, cats, and kids. I am potty trained and do not mind the crate. I also like car rides. I currently have four foster brothers and sisters who have been showing me the ropes of how to be loved. My favourite parts of being an indoor dog are having to scavenge for food and being able to sleep on all the comfy furniture. I am also starting to find my husky voice, and have started to “talk” a little bit. I was pretty thin when they found me, but I am making lots of progress! I can be a little protective over my foster parents so they think I would do best in a home that has previous knowledge of my breeds and is willing to continue working on training me. I can be very sensitive when it comes to training so gentle, force-free methods work best for me. Yelling at me only makes me cower and be scared. Will you be the family to show me what love is for the rest of my life?

Interested in becoming a forever home for Finn? Fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we don't go any further without an application.

Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws.

We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting Finn.
We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Finn the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us.
For immediate consideration, please attach your application to the initial inquiry to help us expedite the process.

Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses.

All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed.

Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!
