Ferrari's Story
Rescue From Texas
Ferarri 3 yo 50 lbs is a very friendly, medium energy dog, who likes to spend his days napping, sunbathing outside or watch his human doing chores. His foster was told that he’s dog/cats/kids friendly. As for his current foster family observation, Ferrari prefers to ignore their cats, and always wags his tail when sees a school bus - a sign that he had kids in previous family and greeted them from school.
He is quiet thru most of the day, and becomes active when its time for a walk or dinner. He sometimes crys when left alone (inside, outside, doesn’t matter), and his foster are working on it. He doesn’t chew or steal, he knows his toys and plays with them only. During a couple months of fostering, he never broke or damaged anything. He knows commands like "sit" "lie down" "come" and so on - and he is ready to learn more if you are willing to teach. He is not perfect of leash yet, but is getting better each day. He absolutely LOVES car rides, HUGS and meeting new people, and he treats like old friends all of them! He doesn’t mind long hikes (thou obviously don’t have much experience with it, but he learns fast). He gets overheated easily, so some sort of clothing is a must when its above 80F – and water. He can carry his own water on hikes, and absolutely adores his backpack. ON short walks (6000 steps or so) his foster has a bottly for him when its above 80F. At the same time, he would not mind spending time in his crate, if owners choose to do some activity without him.
• He is house trained, and crate trained (thou may cry in crate when left alone; a little reasoning with calm voice helps). He would be a perfect dog for a busy family, as well as would love a family that spends home most of the day.
https://mikeschanceanimalrescue.com/dogs-application.htm
