Meet Fernie
Looks like: Schnauzer
Male, 13 years old, 25 pounds
Fernie is a sweet and caring Schnauzer who loves cuddling, exploring, and the companionship of his favorite people! Despite the fact that he's an older gentleman, Fernie loves getting out and experiencing the world around him as much as possible. He is very affectionate, and is fine with humans and other dogs. When he's not in couch potato mode, Fernie is brave enough to go off checking out new territory, even though he's blind and may also be deaf. Although he loves checking out new places, Fernie also does well in his crate, where he already knows (and is comfortable with) his surroundings.
Since he is an older dog, Fernie tends to go to the bathroom more often. He usually goes to the restroom about every three hours, and he wears diapers overnight if needed. Fernie will do great in a flat and safe yard where he can sunbathe all day and wander without running into obstacles! He would appreciate a home where someone is home to keep an eye on him most of the time.
Fernie takes daily medications for both thyroid and liver function and needs daily eye ointment in both eyes.
This good boy came to us from Los Angeles North Central Animal Services through CA Mini Schnauzer Rescue.
