Meet Fencie

Fencie is ready to share his story! ?

Man....I really hope that you are ready. Ready for what you ask? Well, to find your new best friend in me! My name is Fencie and I am a 2.5-year-old, 94lb male Great Pyrenees mix. I have some beautiful Golden spots on me so may even have some Golden Retriever in me! It is either than or Anatolian Shepherd. Whatever my other half(or halves) is, it made for one well-mannered and gorgeous pup!

I found my way into rescue after I ended up in the shelter and didn't get reclaimed. Everyone who meets me wonders how a dog as loving and gentle as me ended up in the shelter...but whoever let me end up there, it was their loss. Now, I am able to find a forever family. One that will love me as much as I will them! ♥

The thing about adopting is you should not do it unless you are absolutely ready. That means you can commit to me for the rest of my life. I am going to be so loyal to my family, and I ask the same in return!

To help make the decision process easier, I had my foster family fill out this questionnaire for me!

-How does your foster act when meeting new people?
Good. He is calm and friendly.

-Has your foster been to any public settings?
To the vet and he did well.

-Does your foster like going on walks?
Yes…I walk him a mile every night.

-Do you think your foster would enjoy going on hikes?
Yes.

-Is your foster leash trained?
Yes.

-How does your foster do on car rides?
Great!

-Does your foster jump on people?
No.

-Describe your foster dog's energy level?
Laidback.

-Is your foster a big chewer?
No.

-Does your foster like to play fetch?
Not sure.

-Does your foster like to play in the
water?
Not sure, but it is easy to give him a bath outside with a hose.

-Does your foster play with Toys?
Not really.

-Does your foster have food aggression?
Not sure I feed the dogs separately.

-Does your foster resource guard?
No.

-Do you think your foster would be okay with free-roam of the house even if you are away?
Yes.

-Is your foster potty trained?
Yes.

-Is your foster kennel trained?
No.

-Where does your foster stay when no one is home?
In my garage (only because I have two dogs that aren’t used to him).

-Where does your foster sleep at night?
In the garage.

-Does your foster jump fences?
He can clear a 4ft chainlink fence in seconds. His new family needs to either have 5+ privacy fencing or be in a large apartment and be able to leash walk him.

-Would your foster dog do good in an apartment?
Yes, but he is a big dog so needs to be exercised properly and within the apartments acceptable weight range for dogs.

-Is your foster a big barker?
Yes…at night. His new family will need to have him sleep in their bedroom at night.

-Is your foster good with other dogs?
Yes.

-How does your foster act around other dogs?
Indifferent.

-Does your foster need another dog in his new home?
No, but I don’t think he would mind.

-Is your foster good with cats?
Not sure.

-Is your foster good with kids?
He has been around a 5-year-old boy for a couple hours with no problems.

-What would be your foster's ideal home?

I think this dog would do great anywhere…he will definitely jump fences so being mainly inside and tall fencing is a must. He gets along with my dogs, but they are not sure of him yet.

-What else can you tell me about your foster?

I’m new to the Great Pyrenees dogs but this guy is very sweet and aloof. Fencie walks great on a leash, eats a lot, is very protective of me on walks…all around a good dog.

Now that you know everything there is to know about me, it is time to talk logistics!

-How can someone adopt me?
The first step is to fill out an adoption app for me at https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app

Once this app comes in, it will get sent on to my foster family and they will help me decide if we are a match or not.

-Where are you being fostered?
I am being fostered in Tulsa, OK.

-Would I need to come to pick you up?
Yes, you would need to pick me up. This rescue does not send us on transports. It is less stress on us that way. Plus, you and I can already start bonding on the road trip home! ?

-Can I adopt you even though I don't live in Oklahoma?
Yep, I am not opposed to living in another state!

-How much is your adoption fee?

My adoption fee is $225.
That includes DHLPP, Rabies, and Bordatella shots. I will be micro-chipped, heart-worm tested, have a fecal done, be de-wormed, be spayed/neutered, and will be current on heart-worm and flea/tick prevention
