Meet Farris
Meet Farris! He is a 10 year old 70 pound pittie mix. He is neutered up to date on vaccinations, heart worm negative, and microchipped.
Farris led a hard life in the country before we came to us. He was skinny and mangey with rotten teeth and terrible ears. Lots of care later, he is a happy, healthy boy but still has skin issues requiring special food (skin and coat dry dog food) and medications (thyroid medication and Apoquel to manage dry/itchy skin once a day). He's a crusty, bumpy mess but we love him and we know he's got a lot of love to give too.
Farris is a big goofball and will keep you laughing! When he gets out of bed in the morning his walk to the back door is a long zigzag from gate to food bin to other gate, water bowl, a quick try at running back to the bedroom, and finally out the door saying, "well why didn't you say you wanted me outside?!" We ridiculously love him!
He is house trained and kennel trained. He is an ornery guy and does need to be kenneled when home alone. He can get creative on what he considers a chew toy if you're not there to tell him which toys are his. He tends to ignore other dogs and cats. He is more interested in finding food. He is really food motivated!
Pit mixes and seniors very often get overlooked and have a hard time finding a forever family, but we know there is a family out there with love for a goofy, loving senior pittie. He has been through so, so much and deserves a family of his own that is willing to give him love and patience as he adjusts to a new place and people.
