Meet Falkor
Falkor is an amazing boy! He is a male, neutered English Setter who joined our rescue from a rural pound when his stray hold was up and no one had claimed him.
Estimated by our vets as approx 5yrs young, this super sweet boy adores humans and other dogs and is a gem for grooming. Current weight 19kg, but still needs to gain a bit more weight, he was too thin when he came into rescue and is working on weight gain still.
He adores playing with other dogs, large and small, and has a wonderful temperament, adapting to the other dog's play styles with respect.
Wishlist:
Falkor would LOVE his forever home to have another playful canine companion
Falkor is not used to being left alone for long periods of time, and would prefer someone home more often, but does not show signs of separation anxiety since he loves the companionship of the other dogs in his foster home
Notes from his foster family:
IS YOUR FOSTER DOG FOOD MOTIVATED? No-he does love bully sticks and freeze dried liver treats, but is selective about treats/food.
Falkor is currently on Joint XL supplement to support his joints for life, he does get a wee bit stiff in his hind legs after rowdy dog play sessions but no concerns found at vet exam
GOOD WITH DOGS? Yes
HOW DOES YOUR FOSTER DOG RESPOND TO MEETING OTHER DOGS ?
Curious, and friendly
HOW DOES YOUR FOSTER DOG RESPOND TO PEOPLE MET ON WALKS? Wants to meet everyone
GOOD WITH CATS? Unknown, but good with bunnies in his foster home so would likely be fine with dog savvy cats as well
HOUSETRAINED? Yes
CRATE TRAINED? Yes
PLEASE ELABORATE ON YOUR FOSTER DOG'S BEHAVIOR IN THE CRATE. Doesn’t love the crate, but will go in.
I LEAVE MY FOSTER DOG ALONE FOR 1 hr PER DAY.
IS YOUR FOSTER DOG DESTRUCTIVE? No
DOES YOUR FOSTER DOG SHOW SIGNS OF SEPARATION ANXIETY? No
OKAY WITH GROOMING AND HANDLING? Yes great
PERSONALITY? Friendly, cuddly, loves attention
OTHER HABITS/ROUTINES THAT WILL HELP THE DOG SETTLE INTO THEIR NEW HOME: Lots of love & reassurance
STRENGTHS/AREAS THEY HAVE IMPROVED ON: Once he adjusted to the household routines he became an amazing pet.
TRANSPORTATION? Harness & seatbelt. Loves the car. No motion sickness nor reactivity noted
ANYTHING TO ADD? Falkor is a fantastic loving dog that will be a great family addition!
