Everett Retriever Mix Cumming, GA

Everett is on the lookout for his forever home. He is a 4-year-old Shepherd/Retriever mix with one blue eye and one brown eye. He is affectionate, loyal, and expressive. He does bark but not much. Everett loves running around outside in a fenced backyard. He likes exploring behind the plants and running around. He is good on a leash but sometimes walks in a zig zag to make sure he gets all the smells. Everett is crate-trained and can sleep overnight in the crate; however he prefers to be in the big human bed. He is not destructive and can be trusted inside. He is affectionate and would love to lay next to you on the sofa.

***Likes: chasing squirrels, all types of edible chew toys, going to breweries, meeting people, and doing tricks for treats. He also has a thing about attracting birds. On one walk we had a rooster visit him and on another walk he found a hawk perched just 8 feet away.

***Preferences on adoption: fenced backyard or access to a fenced area, a calm and quiet environment. Other pets will be case-by-case, but preferably calm animals.

Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered.

Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption.
