Meet Everest

Please meet wee little Everest!!! She is a 2 year old peanut of a Jack mix.
Evie came to us from a hoarder situation in Lancaster County . When she was removed from her situation, she and her sister were severely underweight and malnourished.. She has made massive progress and is now at a good weight and a happy active 2 year old She was spayed and microchipped last week and is ready for her forever home. She hates to have her picture taken.
Everest is a significant mix of breeds ( Italian Greyhound, Beagle, Jack….). She weighs around 10 pounds and is about 12” at the withers. She is mostly housebroken at her foster home but I expect she will have a relapse for a bit when she goes to her new home. She is fine with other dogs and ok with cats. Everest is crate trained and sleeps in a crate but she has run of the house when her foster mom is home.
Everest is a very sweet little girl . She loves to cuddle. She is never close enough to her human. She is fairly independent but will be so, knowing where her human is.
Evie is happy and can be naughty It is very difficult to get or stay angry with her because of her significant cuteness. She will play on her own and likes toys, especially toys bigger than she is. She also enjoys chewing on big knuckle bones. For a little dog , she has drag power and its cute to see her dragging around objects bigger than she is . Speaking of dragging, her one bad (yet endearing) habit is relocating dirty laundry and shoes. She doesn’t take them far but it is a hobby for her an she is pround of her work.
Everest still needs leash an harness practice . She isn’t really sure how the leash walking thing is to her benefit and (because she is little) the big world can intimidate her. She would probably do best in a quieter neighborhood.
Everest really is a lovely dog. Although she is shy at first meeting, she warms up quickly. Please note – She has not been tested with small children and she will bark if she feels the need.
MAJR is a small foster based rescue . All of our dogs live with foster families. We do not have a kennel where you can meet the dogs. Everest is currently in the Philadelphia area . If you are interested in adopting Everest please fill out an adoption application on our website MAJR.org
