Miss Etta is one of three Treeing Walker Coonhounds who were surrendered after their owner passed away.

Etta spent the last two years in a Greyhound boarding facility in Kansas. Thanks to a dedicated rescue advocate, she joined Gentle Jake's and was moved to Michigan into a loving foster home. Etta is almost 4 years old and weighs 60 pounds.

Etta is very well behaved in the house and is just so beautiful and sweet. She gets along well with other dogs of all ages and sizes. She loves to run laps with other playful dogs and has an adorable "play bow". Etta enjoys spending time outside when it's not too cold. She's still adapting to cold MI winter.

Etta has not been cat tested and we cannot comment on how she would be living with a cat. For this reason, we will be saying no to cats in the home. We will update her bio should we be able to have a successful meeting with a kitty.

Etta is housetrained but may have a few accidents while learning the ropes in her forever home. She's a quiet hound who hasn't displayed any interest in counter surfing or garbage picking. Etta is crate trained but is allowed to sleep outside of her crate on a dog bed in her foster home. She is non-destructive in the home.

Etta has a shy nature and will need a home that will allow her to settle in and feel comfortable while learning the joys of being a house pet. She is easily startled and doesn't always come in from the yard on her own. It will take several months or longer for her to feel comfortable in a new environment. The ideal home for Etta would have another confident dog for her to follow their lead. She will thrive in a calm and quiet environment. If your expectation is to have a "plug and play" dog, Etta is not the gal for you. Etta is a little more reserved around men. She does warm up but does take more time.

We are requiring a fully fenced yard (NO E-fencing). No condos or apartments will be considered. Etta will appreciate any children in the home to be over age 8. She's not going to be a fan of loud and rambunctious children.

All of our dogs are fully vetted. They have been vaccinated, altered, microchipped and heartworm tested and on prevention.
