He can be a little shy at first, so a home with older dog savvy children is recommended.<br/><br/>Foster Notes: Meet Ernest – a sweet, affectionate, and protective dog who’s affectionate and eager to please. He’s great with strangers in low-stimulus environments and thrives when people respect his space. Ernest is calm, friendly, and eager to bond with those he trusts, though he prefers not to be touched on the head by anyone other than his owner. He’s also a loyal protector, always alert to anyone approaching the house. He would do best in a quieter surroundings (not on a busy street in a big city). <br/>Ernest loves training sessions, especially when treats are involved – liver, peanut butter, and hot dogs are his favorites! He enjoys working on new skills but prefers short, fun training sessions (5-10 minutes). He’s happiest when he’s spending time with his owner and will thrive in a calm, structured home where his boundaries are respected. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will love you fiercely and make you smile every day, Ernest might be the perfect match for you!
