This litter of comets is blazing across the sky to crash-land in your life :)

With a guesstimated birthday in Jan. 2022, we believe Mom weighs about 20 lb. We've included a picture of her. She has short legs and a longer body.

These pups were born under an abandoned house. The rescuer has been setting out food for Mom and gathered up the pups once they started motoring around. They are attempting to catch Mom so she can be safe, too.

Encke's coat isn't short, but also isn't long. It's adorably scruffy, though.

He's house-trained when kept on a regular schedule. He'll go into a crate and is comfy in a 36" crate. He walks on a leash, but will pull to get to exciting things.

Encke loves to snuggle with his people. He's a little bossy with other dogs, so might be best as an only dog or with a companion that doesn't mind being the assistant rather than the guy in charge.

Whether dogs / puppies come in as strays or owner surrenders, we usually have to make our best guess as to birthdate and breed.

If adopted into a home with other animals, particularly cats, your new pet should be crated or secured when you're not available to supervise to insure a harmonious relationship.

A vet reference is required to confirm responsible pet ownership. Requirement is a minimum three year vet history documenting current / previous pets are spayed / neutered, kept up to date on core vaccinations, and on heartworm prevention. We suggest first time pet owners without a vet history look for an adult dog for companionship and to gain experience. Other rescues or your local government-run animal control agency may have different adoption requirements.

Adoption fee covers two vaccinations. Additional fees for 3rd puppy vaccination, refundable spay/neuter deposit, etc. may apply.

We are an all-volunteer, foster-based rescue. We receive no funding from agencies.

Not all foster dogs are available for viewing during public events at Tractor Supply (360 Blowing Rock Blvd) in Lenoir, NC. Available animals can be seen most Saturdays at Tractor Supply in Lenoir from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. We recommend interested parties contact us to pre-qualify for adoption so their new furry family can go home once paperwork is complete.
