FOSTER UPDATE May 24, 2021
Since living under foster care, Emmy is proving to be the wonderful dog that Red Barn volunteers have always known her to be. Emmy is quite athletic, but she is quick to lie down on the floor (usually in her “sploot” position) and enjoys her toys. She even bounces a ball to herself.
Emmy enjoys her crate time while adjusting to home life. She enjoys the dog park, nature walks, rolling in the grass, and even the treadmill when the weather is bad. She’s a quick learner and is sensitive to the needs of the dogs and people she lives with. All in all—a well-balanced dog!
Emmy is very affectionate and is so cute and unique looking, she makes everyone smile.

Emmy is as affectionate as she is gorgeous! This leggy blonde with stunning facial markings, natural eyeliner and that adorable head tilt is a head turner! She is just over a year old and weighs about 40 pounds. There are many DNA possibilities here, but most people guess that she Emmy is a Carolina Dog or a shepherd mix of some sort.
Emmy likes other dogs but plays with them more enthusiastically than some tolerate. She enjoys running , so a fenced yard at her future home would be an asset. She is usually of moderate energy but when she gets really excited she can get a little mouthy during play so we think she is best suited for a home without little children. (Ages 12 and up should be fine.) She's been waiting a long time for her perfect fit and is ready to be a joyful addition to your home!
Emmy is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and up to date on heartworm and flea/tick preventative. Our $300 adoption fee helps to cover these expenses.
