We believe Emmie is either a Lhasa-poo or Shih-poo.

If you want a best friend, Emmie may be your girl! Emmie is thought to be between 2 and 3 years old and was found as a stray in traffic.

She was diagnosed with severe chronic ear infections, infected eyes and skin issues from constant scratching when she was initially rescued. Her ear and eye infections have been treated and she is on a prescription diet due to food allergies. She will continue to need daily ear drops, weekly ear flushing and remain on a prescription Royal Canin diet to keep further issues at bay. Now Emmie is healthy and happy and blossoms more each day.

Emmie is a fairly quiet, calm and affectionate little girl who wants to be connected to her people and playful dog siblings. She does not bark much and mostly only when appropriate. She is a loving and loyal companion and will follow her people throughout the house to lay on a lap, a dog bed, floor or couch by their side. She wants to cuddle at night and prefers to be covered up next to her family member. Belly rubs are her favorite and she is quick to give kisses if allowed.

Emmie loves to go places with her people and travels well in the car in a doggy car seat or doggie seat belt.

During the day, when she wants yo play, she chooses preferred toys from a shallow basket

She loves to chew on a bully stick! And she loves to play with her foster dog siblings and run after a ball that is thrown for her. She is working on returning it to be thrown again.

She is good with older children and visitors.

Emmie does need a bit of time to adjust to new environments but once she feels safe and comfortable she is a happy, playful girl who is eager to give and receive love.

Emmie is house trained to the extent she is taken outside regularly.

She seems to learn quickly so long as she has consistency.

She has been tested briefly with a cat and did not bark or chase.

She walks well on a leash.

She does not like to be left alone but is not destructive. She would be happiest with an adopter who is home most of the day.

In summary, this is a little girl who wants her own family who will give her all the love and attention she deserves.

** Please note: Due to their size, our dogs are not suitable for homes with children under 5.

We do not have a facility; all dogs are fostered in the homes of our volunteers.

Lil Paws is a very small organization, our volunteer time is reserved for interested persons who have filled out the application to adopt.
