Emmett Beagle Mix Palatine, IL

Emmett is a hero. Just a few days after arriving at SCCR, he helped find a lost dog. Plenty of people had gone looking for the lost pup but it took Emmett, out walking with his foster mom, drawing her attention to a little hiding spot below a bay window. Lost dog found; Emmett crowned a hero!

This trim and handsome Beagle mix is estimated to be 18 months old and weighs 24 pounds. Emmett is housebroken and crate-trained and does not chew inappropriately. In fact, he doesn’t care much for chews or toys, but loves to be outside, exploring or strolling the neighborhood.

As you would suspect from a Beagle-type, Emmett is a barker. It’s a completely endearing version though, starting out as a howl and evolving into an assortment of funny noises. But for this reason, he would probably do best in a single family home. As for other dogs, he is not aggressive but isn’t submissive either. Emmett would probably be completely content as a single dog or might also enjoy a playmate, as long as the other dog is more submissive.

Emmett is happiest being around his people and getting lots of cuddles. He also loves snuggling into a cozy dog bed. This little hero will make some human very, very happy.
