Meet Emma
Hello there! My name is Emma. I am a 7-year-old Blue Weimy with a shiny coat. I came to Louisville Weimaraner Rescue from the Scott County Shelter. My previous owner had to give me up due to a life changing event. What a scary place! But the people there were nice and found a good man to come get me out of jail!
After a day or so I got settled in with my new foster sister Bella. She also was a rescue like me, so we have that in common. I do have an issue with her trying to steal my food! I love food! So, I growl when she gets too close. My previous owners fed me lots of what my foster Dad calls “people food”. That makes me what he calls a “Rubenesque” lady. I think he means I am a little overweight, but just trying to make me feel better about it.
That said he won’t give me any of his food. I get kind of upset with that and start barking when I don’t get my way. He does give me healthy peanut butter treats and that satisfies me. We are working on my figure, which is quite large weighing in at 132. I need to drop some of this people’s food weight so I can run, play, and walk with you when you adopt me!
I am a sweet lady and will cuddle with you whenever I can. I do well with other dogs (just don’t steal my food or try to steal my affection time). I can be left alone without crating although I do require a blanket or three to nook on and carry around. It makes me feel safe. I will try to steal yours if you are not careful. I don’t jump on the counters or on you (usually). I don’t know about something my foster Dad calls “cats”. I haven’t seen one since I been in my new foster home, but the word on the street is no cats.
I am being fostered in Lexington, KY. I promise I will work hard on my weight and make you a great companion. Please go to www.louisvilleweimrescue.com and complete an adoption application and then an LWR volunteer will be in touch. There will be videos of me that you will be able to see soon.
