Emma Beagle Mix Minneapolis, MN

Hi, I’m Emma! I arrived in MN last weekend, and my foster family says I'm coming out of my shell more and more each day. I'm a bit shy at first, but once I know that you love dogs and are kind, I warm up quickly. The foster family I’m staying with has other dogs, and I’m learning a ton from my foster dog brothers! They are showing me that there are a lot of kind people in MN that I can trust. I'm very calm most of the time, but every evening I like to take all the toys out of the toy bin, cover my dog bed with them and play! I have a big yard to trot around in here, and when I go outside, I enjoy sniffing the yard and chasing the other dogs here after I do my business (I am potty trained). I love to snuggle up on the couch with my foster parents, and at night I'd prefer to sleep on the couch in the living room with the other dogs, or on the bed, rather than in a kennel. I’ve also learned how to walk on a leash really well, but I'm still learning to respond when my name is called, and how to sit. My foster family hasn't yet heard me bark. I would love to find a quiet home with a yard that I can play in, and I wouldn't mind having a dog sibling but I could also be the only pet in the house. I am hoping to find a home where my family will be patient with me as I'm still learning to trust people. I may look a little sad in my photos, but I'm actually very happy, and my tail is always wagging once I'm comfortable!

Emma is estimated to be 2 years old and 23 lbs. Since we don’t know the dog’s actual genetics, this is just a guess on breed and size when grown. All dogs have had a vet examination, are up to date on all vaccinations, have been given dewormer and heartworm prevention. Dogs over 7 months have been heartworm tested. Please note that because we require a home visit at the time of adoption we can only place animals in homes within a 100 mile radius of Minneapolis.
