Emma is a lovely mid-aged gal. She is a a quiet girl in general but stays alert and will let you know when someone is stopping by or if the squirrels, chippies or bunnies are getting close to the bird feeders. Emma is a very devoted girl and tends to bond closely to her people family. She came from a quiet environment with a couple in retirement and so we are looking for the same type of home for Emma. Emma can be around children when they visit without issue, however, as she can be a bit shy children living in the household would not provide a peaceful home for Emma. Also, although we listed Emma as good with other dogs she has not been accustomed to other dogs in the home for several years. She can be protective with other dogs for space, food or toys - especially balls. Emma LOVES her red rubber ball and will play fetch or carry it around with her for hours! For that reason we are seeking a home where Emma can be with someone as an only dog. She is fine with dogs during social visits and enjoys canine companion socialization she prefers to share her home space with just her humans. Emma is well trained and listens staying close to her people when outside (after bonding of course). She is terrific in the home and respectful of people space although she will curl up on the couch and snooze if allowed. If you are looking for a healthy, quiet mature gal as a four legged fur companion and can give her a active but quiet home Emma may just the right girl for you!
