Meet Emi Sweet, Shy, and So Ready for Love

Hi, I’m Emi — a 2 to 3-year-old, 13-pound pup with a gentle soul and the cutest little overbite you’ve ever seen!

I was rescued by The Sato Project from a heartbreaking hoarding case in Manatí, Puerto Rico, where I lived in a home with over 30 other dogs. It was a scary, crowded place, but now I’m safe, healing, and learning what love really feels like.

I’m finally healthy and getting ready to fly into Morristown, NJ around November 8th — and I’m hoping my forever family will be there waiting to meet me.

Because of where I came from, I can be shy at first, especially around new people or unfamiliar places. But once I feel safe, my sweetness shines through, and you’ll see just how special I really am. A calm, patient, and loving home would be the perfect environment for me to gain confidence and settle in at my own pace.

And did I mention my overbite? It gives me a one-of-a-kind smile that’s sure to steal your heart.

If you’re the kind of person who finds joy in helping a shy dog blossom — and if you have room in your heart for a quiet little lovebug — I’d be honored to be part of your family.

Emi is ready for her second chance — full of hope, healing, and love.

About The Sato Project:
The Sato Project has been working hard since 2011 to rescue and rehabilitate the stray dogs of Puerto Rico, known locally as “satos.” To date, we’ve saved over 8,000 dogs and are committed to stopping the overpopulation crisis with spay/neuter and vaccination programs. Your adoption helps us continue this vital work.
