Meet Ember aka Emmy
Ember came to be a HART dog when a local shelter reached out for help. Ember and several other pups from a hoarding situation found themselves surrendered to a local shelter in January. HART recently took in Ember in order to help transition her from living in the shelter for about five months. She was definitely one of the shelter favorites!
Ember will need a very patient adopter. Experience with adopting a hoarding dog will definitely be a plus. Ember spent the first couple weeks in her foster home in the corner. She would sneak onto the dogs beds when foster mom would go to work and lounge there during the day. She still retreats to her blanket and area set up, but each day she is venturing out more and more.
Ember is a little quick gal and is still getting used to human touch. Once you can catch her she loves butt scratches. She is also a very happy girl. You can see her happiness because she wiggles her whole body when excited. Ember still isn’t crazy about being petted but she is getting better and better each day.
Ember also loves to run around the fence yard but she is closely monitored as hoarding dogs are flight risks. She does ok on a leash but will chew through it if you are not watching. So no leash walks for this gal unless practicing in the yard.
Ember is about the sweetest gal there is and deserves a loving home. Being from a hoarding situation sometimes there is aggression that occurs and she has absolutely displayed none whatsoever. We would love to find a local adopter so Ember’s foster mom can assist in anyway. Ember will also come with some gear for outside time to help her transition given she is a flight risk.
